As part of Winterfest on Monday, Feb 17, we will be hosting a Come Try Curling clinic from 1 pm to 3 pm. All are welcome but children must be supervised by parents. Clean shoes are mandatory, we have all other equipment available to borrow.
If you are able to volunteer to help show people how to curl during this event, please contact Bruce Schade at bskd@mymts.net.
Registration is now open for the Open Bonspiel being held March 28-30. See the poster above or click here for more information.
Note that all bartenders must have their Smart Choices certificate to be behind the bar. Helpers without a certificate can clear glasses but must not be behind the bar at any time. You must have your certificate on you during your shift. Volunteers doing bar shifts should bring their certificates to Lucy (our bar manager) who will take a photo of it and keep it in a binder at the bar. Serving It Safe certificates now expire after 5 years so make sure yours is current. Any bar questions should be directed to the bar manager.
If you wish to take your Smart Choices certification, click here for more information. Once you have completed the course, give a copy of your certificate and a copy of your receipt to the club treasurer (currently Donna Ray-Litke) and the club will reimburse you for the cost of the course.
During the season, teams may have one or more players who are unable to play due to conflicts. If this happens, teams should find spares or play with 3 person teams. Any player who is a member of the club can spare for other teams. Non-members must pay a $7 spare fee/game. This can be paid to Lucy at the bar.
If teams can’t find enough spares to ice at least 3 players, then please contact the opposing skip to cancel a game. Make-up games can be rescheduled for Monday evenings. Please contact our icemaker, Todd Evecsyn to ensure ice is available. Please note that make-up games are a last resort and every effort should be made to play games on league nights as scheduled.
We are still in need of a secretary to fill out our Executive for the Board of Directors. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Jarrett at sjpowers@mymts.net.
It was decided by the Board last year that the “no-tick” rule would be implemented for both league play and bonspiels beginning at the start of the 2024-2025 season. The rule is as follows:
If, prior to the delivery of the sixth stone of an end, a delivered stone causes, either directly or indirectly, an opposition stone in the Free Guard Zone (FGZ) which is touching the centre line to be moved to an off-centre line position, the non-offending team has the option to:
(i) remove the delivered stone from play, and replace all stones that were displaced to their positions prior to the violation taking place; or
(ii) leave all stones where they came to rest.
If a stone is touching at least part of the centre line marking, it is considered on the centre line.
Club newsletters for the current season are below. These are also emailed out so make sure we have your current email address.

Beausejour Curling Club Mission Statement
The BCC provides, to curlers of all ages and abilities in the Eastman Region, a family oriented experience in an outstanding facility.
.
We are a 6-sheet club located in the Beausejour Sportsplex in Beausejour, Manitoba. Our club includes the Icebreaker Lounge which features a bar with views of all the sheets as well as monitors with overhead views of the houses at both ends. There is also a lower viewing area that provides ice-level views.
We have evening leagues for men, ladies, and mixed teams. There is drop-in curing every Tuesday morning for those looking for a little fun and exercise as well as a 2-person stick curling league on Thursday afternoons. Finally, we operate an After-School curling program on Mondays for children in grades 4 to 8. We are also the host facility for the Curling Academy program run by École Edward Schreyer School for kids in grades 9 to 11.
