Thank you to Gary Plohman, Shaunda Rossington and Grant and Judy Plohman for running a very successful 2-person stick bonspiel. This was our first attempt at this type of event and we hope to host many more.

Lance joined the Beausejour Curling Club in 1978 and became a board member for a total of 6 years in the capacities of Director, Vice-President, President and Past-President. Lance was also a league coordinator and website administrator, officiating co-chair for the 2004 Scotties and the 2011 Safeway Provincials, and was Co-Chair of the 2016 Scotties Provincial Championship.
Lance volunteered as a VIP driver at the 1991 World Championships and 1998 Brier. He was an Observer/Timer in 2002, began officiating in 2003 and was named a Head Umpire in 2004. Certified as a Level 3 Umpire, Lance was a Head Umpire at 7 provincial championships, a Supervising Umpire at 16 provincial championships and a Supervising Umpire at the 2005 Canadian Seniors Championships. Lance was also an Observer Supervisor at the 2003 World Curling Championships, a Statistician at the 2008 Brier, an On-Ice Observer at the 2013 Tim Horton’s Roar of the Rings and the Umpire at the 2020 High School Provincials.
Lance began instructing his children in the After School Program at the Beausejour Curling Club; developed and taught Beginner, Novice and Adult clinics; provided instruction at Drop-In Clinics and was fully certified at a Level 2 and a Level 3 Technical.
Lance coached High School Girls to a Silver Medal (2000), Junior Men’s at Provincial (2006) and to a Manitoba Junior Men’s Championship (2008). He coached Junior Women’s teams to Provincials (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014), to a Manitoba Finalist position (2011), a Manitoba Junior Women’s Championship and a Canadian Silver Medalist position (2012). He continued to coach teams in Manitoba provincial championships (2013, 2014) and a Women’s World Tour (2018).
Lance continues to curl twice a week (Beausejour Curling Club and St. Vital Curling Club) and is a Director on the Manitoba Curling Hall of Fame & Virtual Museum board.

We are a 6-sheet club located in the SunGro Centre in Beausejour, Manitoba. Our club includes the Icebreaker Lounge which features a bar with views of all the sheets as well as monitors with overhead views of the far end. There is also a lower viewing area that provides ice-level views.
We have leagues for men, ladies, and mixed teams as well as an after-school program for kids in grades 4 to 8 and drop-in recreational curling on Tuesday mornings for those who just want to have some fun. We are also the host facility for the Curling Academy program run by École Edward Schreyer School for kids in grades 9 to 11.
