The After-School curling program is for children in grades 4 to 8. This program includes instruction on curling skills, rules of the game as well as playing short games.
In addition to head coach Daphne Keck, each sheet has an adult or high school volunteer working with the kids.
The After-School Curling program runs on Mondays from 4 pm to 5 pm. If there is no school on a particular Monday, there will be no curling (this includes stat holidays, in-service days and storm days).
All applicable COVID-19 protocols will be followed.
Clean indoor shoes are a must. A broom is also required. A removable slider is recommended. Comfortable clothing such as sweatpants, a light jacket and thin gloves will help keep children warm on the ice.
In order to discourage sharing of equipment between children, loaner equipment at the club (such as sliders and grippers) will be assigned to a specific child and remain with them for the season. Brooms will be kept at the club and sanitized between uses. Rock handles will be sanitized before the start of each session of curling (and rocks are not shared between students).
